Teaching Practice

 Procedures of teaching

In the procedure of my teaching, I started with greetings and introducing myself to the students, showing also where I came from, which made them happy because they encountered a new culture. Then, I proceed with an icebreaker or motivation activity to help the students feel more comfortable and engaged in the learning process. This sets a positive tone for the rest of the lesson and encourages participation from all students. After that, proceed to the topic discussion, which also encourages the students to be part of the discussion, to which I add an explanation and show pictures to understand the students, and I always ask a questions about the topic we discuss.

Greetings of the students

Time Management and Organizing Activities

I always balanced my time in my part of the discussion to spare time for the activities of the students.

for motivation, I always set the time for 5 minutes to get their attention and unlock their interest in my subject teaching

For my Motivation activity, Students will choose a place that they like to visit or that they already visited.

In proper discussion, I always maintained it and did not exceed 10 minutes. The purpose of the discussion is to enhance students' understanding of the topic and clarify any confusion they may have. I actively encourage students to ask questions and engage in the discussion to ensure their comprehension of the material. I engage students by playing interactive games and posing topic-related questions to capture their attention. This approach ensures that students remain engaged and actively participate in the discussion, resulting in a more enriching learning experience.

With the help of Ms. Huy Nhung and Mr. Phuong Nguyen, they translate my explanation into their language for further understanding of the students

After the discussion, I arranged for them to do a group activity for 5-10 minutes, depending on the need to answer the students. Usually, I divided them into 4 groups, each composed of 4 students. The group activity was to promote critical thinking and collaboration among students. Encouraging students to collaborate and share thoughts has significantly improved their comprehension and retention of the material. This approach enhances students' communication skills and fosters a culture of learning from peers and gaining diverse perspectives. Observing students taking ownership of their learning and actively engaging in class and group discussions is rewarding.

Students are having a group discussion for the activity

After the group activity, each group will show and share their answer in the class, and after that, I give them a conclusion of the topic and after that, I will ask them questions about what they learned today. This helps reinforce the key points and allows for further discussion and reflection on the topic. It also encourages students to think critically about the material and apply it to real-life situations.

Classroom management

Based on my reflections on my classroom management, sometimes I make them work in groups to promote collaboration and independence. Other times, I use positive reinforcement to encourage positive behavior and maintain a respectful learning environment. When I notice students are noisy and inattentive, I use a signal to regain their focus.

Problem-solving while teaching and staying in the designated school

There are instances where students are hesitant to answer questions, which may be due to a lack of confidence or fear of being judged by their peers. but I always motivate them and support such as providing extra resources or explaining further to feel more comfortable participating in class discussions.

If a student has difficulty with a question, I adapt the questions to guarantee their comfort in engaging. I also encourage students to ask questions and establish a secure and nonjudgmental environment in which they may express themselves, such as actively listening and validating their perspectives.
